Sculpted by Alfred Lenoir, was inaugurated in 1914, it is surmounted by Marianne carrying a bouquet of flowers in her arms. The epidemic lasted until 1903, it explains why Grand-Bassam lost its status as capital to Bingerville in 1900. Buenos Aires, Argentina - .Monument to General San Martín and the Armies of the independence at the Plaza San Martin Square in Buenos Aires city.The Monument to General San Martín and the Armies of Independence of the city of Buenos Aires is an equestrian monument in bronze on a polished red granite base that honors General José de San Martín, Argentine national hero and four important related landmarks. The group formed by the Liberator on the horse was the first equestrian monument in Argentina (inaugurated on July 13, 1862), the work of the French sculptor Louis-Joseph Daumas. On the other hand, the bronze groups around the basement are the work of the German Gustavo Eberlein, and were inaugurated in 1910.
In 1859  a Carrara marble statue representing the Empress Josephine de Beauharnais, wife of  the French Emperor Napoleon 1, was  installed at La Savane Park in Fort de  France. In 1991, the statue was beheaded by a group of people and red paint was splattered on it as a reminder of her role in reinstating slavery.

The genocide took place after The Young Turk Revolution involving the years 1914-1923 which impacted the Christian minority Pontic Greeks in Anatolia. The Young Turks wanted to 'Turkify' the Ottoman Empire and so a genocidal campaign took place against non-Turkish minorities. Between 1914-1923, about 353,000 Pontic Greeks were killed and 1.5 million were expelled.
