Seattle - June 24, 2016: Aerial view of First Avenue South Bridge and Duwamish Waterway. The First Avenue South Bridge is a pair of double-leaf bascule bridges built between 1956 and 1998 that carry State Route 99 over the Duwamish River about three miles (5 km) south of downtown Seattle, Washington. \nThe northbound span was built in 1956 to connect the industrial areas northeast of the Duwamish to the residential neighborhoods to the south and southwest. Between 1996 and 1998, the drawspan was retrofitted and the approaches completely demolished and rebuilt. The southbound span opened in February 1997 and carried traffic in both directions for two years while the northbound span was rebuilt.
The Port of Los Angeles is one of the busiest cargo ports in the world, and large cargo ships are a common sight there. These ships can range from hundreds to thousands of feet long and carry a variety of goods such as electronics, clothing, and machinery. They are often equipped with multiple cranes to unload their cargo quickly and efficiently. The ships are manned by skilled crews who handle navigation, loading and unloading, and maintenance. The sight of these massive vessels in the harbor is awe-inspiring, reminding us of the enormous amount of goods that are transported across the world's oceans every day.

I took a photo of the current state (as of August 2023) of the Osaka Expo site from the summit of Mount Rokko in Kobe, Japan. The construction has been significantly delayed beyond the original schedule, which makes me worry if the Expo can be held as planned.
