Fur seals are any of nine species of pinnipeds belonging to the subfamily Arctocephalinae in the family Otariidae
The Galapagos fur seal (Arctocephalus galapagoensis) is one of eight seals in the genus Arctocephalus and one of nine seals in the subfamily Arctocephalinae.
