Dams are large hydraulic structures that allow water to be stored or retained for use in activities such as irrigation, human consumption, and the generation of electrical energy.
October 1964, Blanco River near Wimberley, Texas, USA.  I found this low water crossing the Blanco River to be impassible after a heavy rain.  The road forms a low dam that the water can flow over.  When it does, cars should not use this route to get to their destination.
