Ancient Petroglyphs on the wall of the Step House at Mesa Verde National Park near Cortez, Colorado. Petroglyphs are a communication form used by early Puebloan and anasazi people of the Four Corners region in southwestern Colorado.
Nearly a thousand years ago natives inhabited the lower elevations around the San Francisco Peaks of Arizona. Today the remnants of their villages dot the landscape along with their other artifacts. These petroglyphs were found on Magnetic Mesa in Wupatki National Monument near Flagstaff, Arizona, USA.
