The American marten (Martes americana), also known as the American pine marten, is a species of North American mammal, a member of the family Mustelidae. The species is sometimes referred to as simply the pine marten.

The beech marten, also known as the stone marten, is a small carnivorous mammal found in Europe and Asia. It belongs to the mustelid family, which also includes weasels and ferrets. Beech martens are known for their slender bodies, brown fur, and distinctive facial markings. They are skilled climbers and are often found in wooded areas, but they can also adapt to urban environments.
