The majestic Bald Eagle (Haliaeetus leucocephalus) is the national symbol of the United States.  It is mostly found in the lowland areas near bodies of water.  It feeds mostly on fish including spawned out salmon in rivers as well as water birds, geese, carrion and other prey.  Bald eagles are frequent wintertime visitors to Northern Arizona.
