Long-crested Eagle - The long-crested eagle (Lophaetus occipitalis) is an African bird of prey. Like all eagles, it is in the family Accipitridae. An endangered Female Harpy Eagle is in a nest with a single chick.  This large raptor bird is very rare and shy.  It is cited as endangered, vulnerable (IUCN 3.1)[2] CITES Appendix.
