Pumpung Village - Cempaka District (South Borneo), September 8, 2018. Two Traditional Miners are passing tray filled with soil and muds inside the mining shaft.\n\nThey are working on the dark, damp, wet and there is almost no fresh air to breathe. 15 meters down from the land surface, and inside a 2 x 1,5 meter small hole, the miners are struggled without any safety tools to find rough Diamond materials.\n\nEveryday, this small group has to risk their life by going down into a small mining shaft that they called a “Rat Hole” to find rough diamond materials. This mining group made the Rat Hole manually by digging soils using shovels, within a vertical L shape from the surface. In some mining areas, a Rat Hole could reach up to 30 meters below from the surface.
