The front of a 1943-44 British World War Two clothing ration book. (Identifying details removed.) Clothing was rationed from June 1941 until March 1949. The books contained coupons in various colours, to prevent people using all their coupons at once - the Government would announce when each colour could be used, although older coupons could be saved up and used with new ones. Each adult was allocated 60 coupons per year (later reduced to 48) and children were allowed an extra 10 coupons above the adult ration.

Ceramic plaque in the covered wash house in Cote D'Azur resort of Saint Tropez, known as Lavoir Vasserot - Laverot Wash House, after it's architect and creator and honorary citizen of Saint Tropez, Charles Albert Vasserot. Namutoni Fort at Etosha National Park in Kunene Region, Namibia. It was built in 1896 as a German police post and used as a prison for English prisoners during World War I.  Destroyed in 1904 during the Battle of Namutoni, it was rebuilt a year later and declared a monument in 1947, and restored in 1957. Today it is a completely free to enter monument with no payment required and is located at Namutoni camp.
