Earthworks for road construction are underway, with markers placed along the edge indicating the height. The scene shows heavy machinery and construction equipment actively shaping and preparing the ground for the new road. The markers, typically numbered stakes or signs, are strategically placed to guide the construction process, ensuring the road's elevation and grading meet the required specifications. These numbers help construction crews maintain accuracy in the road's height and slope, critical for drainage and safety. The background might include a partially completed road section and an open landscape, highlighting the scale and progress of the construction project. The image captures the meticulous planning and effort involved in transforming the terrain into a functional roadway.

The activity at this terrace, named after the Roman goddess Minerva, known as the patron of artists and sculptors, changes significantly over time. The travertine cascades beside the boardwalks were primarily formed in the 1990s. In certain years, they lie dormant and dry. When dry, the intricate layers and varying depths of the terraces are clearly visible, revealing the complex history of their formation.

An overcast photo of the Lady of Lourdes Grotto/Shrine just before it was torn down in 2008. The trees to the right of it were chopped down and the stumps removed. The farmers have begun working the field to plant crops. The sky is dark and overcast with incoming rain. \nThe grotto was built on the Lourdes Farm, just south of Lethbridge, on Highway 4, owned by the ‘Brothers of Lourdes”. They were a charitable organization from Holland made up of clergy from the Roman Catholic Church. \nThe Grotto/Shrine seen here was built by them in 1955. Modelled after the Shrine of Lourdes in France, it was built with 2X4 wood pieces firmly nailed together and draped with burlap dipped in a concrete slurry. A statue of the Virgin Mary sat in the opening near the top. The bottom opening contained a small alter and candle racks with kneeler benches outside. The grotto was the location of religious ceremonies and was also open for people to worship and light candles. The fence was put in by new owners. Originally there was a turn off from the highway and an area to park.
