Diplacus douglasii is a species of monkeyflower known by the common names brownies and purple mouse ears. It is native to the mountains and foothills of California and Oregon, where it is often found on serpentine soils.  Phrymaceae.

The Golden-Mantled Ground Squirrel (Callospermophilus lateralis) is a type of squirrel found in the mountainous areas of western North America. Because of its stripes and cheek pouches the Golden-Mantled Ground Squirrel is often thought of as a chipmunk. It is considerably larger than the chipmunk and lacks facial stripes. This Golden Mantled Ground Squirrel was photographed while feeding in a meadow of lupine near the Paradise River in Mount Rainier National Park, Washington State, USA.

Two Bigelow's Monkeyflower, Diplacus bigelovii, are in bloom at Anza-Borrego Desert State Park. Diplacus bigelovii is a species of monkeyflower known by the common name Bigelow's monkeyflower. It is native to the southwestern United States, where it grows in desert and slope habitats.

(Pedicularis racemose)  Sickletop Pedicularis is one of the six varieties found in Mount Rainier National Park.   The leaves are toothed and reddish early in growth.  The flowers are pale pink, and the beak is curled sideways and downward.  They can grow 5-24 inches in the sub-alpine meadows.

Fruit hairy.\nHabitat: Marshes, fens and other damp places, occasionally dune slacks.\nFlowering Season: July to August.\nDistribution: Throughout Europe, except the extreme North.\n\nThis nice Species is quite rare in the Netherlands. Most to be seen in the Coast Areas and scattered in the rest of the Country.
