Erythranthe guttata, with the common names seep monkeyflower and common yellow monkeyflower, is a yellow bee-pollinated annual or perennial plant. It was formerly known as Mimulus guttatus.

Leaves oval in outline, pinnately divided into narrow, toothed segments, each tooth tipped by a bristle or several bristles; bladders 3mm. Flowers deep yellow, 12-18mm, 4-10 in the raceme, the lower lip of the corolla bent down; spur conical, pointed; fruiting freely. Snapdragon is a garden plant of the genus Antirrhinum, which is available in many showy colors except blue. It is called snapdragon because the flower resembles the face of a dragon that opens and closes its mouth, while in Japan it is called gold fish flower for the flower’s resemblance to gold fish. It is treated as an annual plant, because it cannot survive summer heat, although it is essentially a perennial plant.

$Hairless, short to medium perennial; stems erect, square and hollow, with a creeping and rooting base. Leaf linear to lanceolate, opposite toothed or almost untoothed, half clasping the stem; with translucent gland-dots. Flowers white , veined and tinged with purplish-red. 10-18mm, tubular 2 lipped, the lower lip 3-lobed, borne in leafy racemes.\nHabitat: Wet places, meadows, marshes, river and stream banks, ditches.\nFlowering Season: May-October.\nDistribution: Belgium, Holland, France and Germany. From W and C Europe to W Asia.\n\nThis is a rare Species in the Netherlands. The Picture is made in my Garden Pond.\nThe Plant is Poisonous but in the past used as Herbal Medicine.$
