Warmbad / Bela-Bela / Warmbaths, Limpopo Province, South Africa: constructed by British forces in 1901 during the guerrilla phase of the Second Anglo-Boer War (1899–1902), the Bela-Bela blockhouse is a rare surviving example of a solid masonry military fortification. Erected under Lord Kitchener’s broader strategic initiative, the structure was built to restrict the movement of Boer commandos and safeguard critical assets. This sturdy square stone stockade was positioned to protect the vital railway line connecting Pretoria to Pietersburg (Polokwane) and to secure the town's geothermal water supply during the British occupation. Today, preserved as a provincial heritage monument within the town's industrial sector, it remains an austere, enduring architectural record of South Africa's turbulent military history.

Knollcombes, Saint Helena: the Boer Prisoner of War Cemetery, occupies a steep hillside plot at in the centre of Saint Helena, a British Overseas Territory in the South Atlantic. It contains the numbered graves of 180 Boer prisoners who died in captivity on the island between 1900 and 1902, out of approximately 6,000 transported from South Africa during the Second Anglo-Boer War and housed in tented camps at Deadwood Plain and Broad Bottom. The Anglican Church refused burial in its grounds, regarding the prisoners as enemies of the King and heathens, so the Baptist Church donated the land. Two granite obelisks erected in 1913 by the South African (Union) Government bear the inscribed names and ages of the deceased, ranging from 16 to 61. Maintained by the Baptist Church until 1945 and thereafter by the St Helena Government, the cemetery was renovated by the South African Navy in 1991 and remains open to visitors as a historical site.
St Paul's District, Saint Helena: the Boer Cemetery at Knollcombes serves as a solemn testament to the thousands of burghers exiled to Saint Helena during the Anglo-Boer War between 1900 and 1902. This granite monument stands in memory of the prisoners of war who perished in captivity, far from their South African homelands. The stone obelisk is inscribed with the names and ages of those who died while defending the independence of their republics. Propped against the base is the Vierkleur, the revered flag of the South African Republic, representing the enduring spirit and identity of a people who faced hardship and displacement. In the background, rows of graves across the green hillside denote the final resting places of these men. This site remains a sacred location for those honoring the sacrifice of the Boer soldiers and the historical legacy of their struggle against imperial forces.

Knollcombes, Saint Helena: situated on a quiet hillside the Boer Cemetery on Saint Helena serves as the final resting place for approximately 180 Boer prisoners of war who died while exiled on the island during the Second Anglo-Boer War (1899–1902). Because the local Anglican Church refused to inter the captives, designating them as enemies of the state, the Baptist Church provided the land for this dedicated burial ground. The cemetery is visually austere, featuring rows of white, numbered graves that ascend the steep slope in a terraced formation. Instead of individual named headstones, the identities of the deceased are formally recorded on two large granite obelisks erected at the base of the site by the South African government in 1913. Maintained by the St Helena Government since 1945, the site remains a somber historical testament to the island's role as a remote wartime detention center.
