William Emerson, father of minister William Emerson and grandfather of transcendentalist writer and lecturer Ralph Waldo Emerson. n 1842, the American writer Nathaniel Hawthorne rented the Old Manse for $100 a year. The Old Manse The house is located on Monument Street, with the Concord River just behind it. The property neighbors the North Bridge, a part of Minute Man National Historical Park. It was designated a National Historic Landmark in 1966 and is open to the public as a nonprofit museum.

Brewster, Massachusetts, USA -April 26, 2021- Yellow daffodils bloom outside of the Stony Brook grist mill on Cape Cod.  Every spring, thousands of  a herring species known as alewives swim upstream from the ocean  in Paines Creek, which powers the mill, to spawn in kettle ponds nearby.  A very popular local attraction for locals, tourists, and flocks of seagulls which feed on the fish.
