The Bothwell Castle was built in the 13th century in a strategic crossing point of the river Clyde and played a key role in Scotland's Wars of Independence. Now the large medieval castle, located in South Lanarkshire, is mostly in ruin, but people can visit the courtyard, the prison tower, the great hall and chapel.
