A view of the remains of the imposing mausoleum of Augustus, also known as Augusteo, the iconic funerary monument of Emperor Augustus which will reopen to the public in March 2021 after a 12-year restoration. The mausoleum, built starting from 28 BC. it stood in the northern part of the Campo Marzio and was one of the wonders of imperial Rome. A few meters away is the Ara Pacis, the altar dedicated to peace erected by Augustus in the year 9 BC. On the left the church and the convent of San Rocco all'Agusteo.
