Bryce Canyon National Park in Southwestern Utah is famous for the largest collection of hoodoos in the world. These hoodoos are tall skinny shafts of rocks that protrude from the bottom of arid basins. At Bryce Canyon, hoodoos range in size from that of a human, to heights exceeding a 10-story building.

The area was named after Ebenezer Bryce, who was sent here by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He settled in this area in 1874.
