This attractive bay on the southern end of the island is said to be where St Columba landed on Iona in AD 563. It is a place of spiritual pilgrimage, and the lovely pebble beach has inspired many to add to this labyrinth. There are pebbles of white and green Iona marble here, the latter known as Columba's tears, many of which are used to make the figure.
