The Terasaka Rice Terraces are the largest rice terraces in Saitama Prefecture, located at the confluence of Yokozegawa River (a tributary of the Arakawa River) and the Sozawagawa River (a tribunary of Yokozegawa). The rice terraces are located 230 to 270 meters above sea level, and stretch 400m from East to West, and 250m from North to South. Of the total area of around 5.2 hectares, around 4 hectares is cultivated as rice fields (around 25 fields). The terraces also offer an imposing view of magnificent Mt. Buko.\nThis place is also famous for its spider flowers (also called Equinox flower in Japan), which are in full bloom in late September, as you can recognize in some photos.
