Cloth Hall – a building with shopping stalls in the very center of the Main Market Square in Krakow. The first wooden stalls were built in the second half of the 13th century on the initiative of Bolesław the Chaste. In the mid-14th century, a brick, Gothic building, over a hundred meters long, was built in their place, but it was destroyed after a fire in 1555. The current Renaissance Cloth Hall was built in 1556–1559 according to the designs of Santi Gucci and Jan Maria Padovano. In the years 1875–1879, the building was rebuilt according to the design of Tomasz Pryliński. Currently, the Cloth Hall houses the Gallery of 19th-century Polish Art.
