Greenwich Hospital was a home for retired sailors and operated 1692 to 1869. \n\nIts buildings are used by the Royal Naval College, now known as the Old Royal Naval College.
Vintage photograph of the Royal Navy warship HMS Scylla taken at Sheerness Dockyard, Kent in 1873.   Scylla was a 16 guns, 400-horse power wooden screw corvette launched in 1856 and paid off in 1873. She served in the Mediterranean and the Pacific Station.
