The current reconstructed church was built in 1898 and paid for by King Edward VII but the site on which it stands dates back to the 7th century. The font within the church is Norman and much of the stonework within the church is thought to be original.

A very old ledger tomb partially covered in moss in the churchyard of St Peter and St Paul's Church in Lavenham, Suffolk, Eastern England. It appears to show a mason’s mark on the top. The church was constructed 1486-1525 in what was then one of the largest and richest towns in England.

The Holy Shroud was on public display in Turin Cathedral from April 19 to June 24.
Old wooden stocks and whipping post in the village of Ufford in Suffolk, Eastern England. Of course, these are not the originals but it is known that there were stocks and a whipping post in Ufford in 1680. The use of stocks was outlawed in 1837 but whipping posts were not abolished until 1948. Stocks (which restrained only the feet) and whipping posts were used for crimes such as drunkenness, petty theft, disobedience (servants), Sabbath breaking, gambling, vagrancy, wife beating - and even travelling musicians and fortune tellers could find themselves chained in the stocks and being pelted with unsavoury items!
