Designed in 1765, this tower was completed in 1772 and is one of the finest triangular follies in the whole of the UK. It stands 160 feet high and has an observation deck on the top where visitors can enjoy the outstanding views (when the tower is open and for a fee!). The lighter coloured brickwork on the righthand turret marks where a plane flew into the tower in June 1944, killing all five American servicemen. Image taken on a bright summers day with a fish eye lens for dramatic effect. Space for copy and text.
