Mount Elden and Little Elden are named for John Elden, one of the region's earliest Anglo settlers. Elden and his family established a homestead on the mountain's lower slopes and, during the late 19th century, grazed sheep on the open grasslands below the mountain. The mountain's exposed, rocky slopes are a dominant feature from almost any part of the surrounding area. Despite its rugged appearance and steep relief, the mountain is accessible via an extensive road and trail system. Little Elden was photographed from the Arizona Trail as it passes through the upper meadow above Sandy Seep in Coconino National Forest near Flagstaff, Arizona, USA.

The Granite Dells are a geological feature characterized by exposed granite rock formations that have been sculpted by wind and water over millions of years into unusual shapes and patterns. The term “dells” refers to the valleys or low areas between the granite formations. Nestled among these natural wonders lies Watson Lake, a reservoir formed in 1915 when early settlers dammed Granite Creek. This juxtaposition of geological history and human intervention creates a serene oasis, inviting visitors to ponder the passage of time and marvel at the forces of nature. Watson Lake and the Granite Dells are in Prescott, Arizona, USA.
