Spiraea cantoniensis, also called Bridal-wreath Spiraea, Cape May, Double white May, May bush, and Reeve's Spiraea, is a deciduous perennial shrub typically grown as an ornamental plant in gardens and parks. The plant can reach a height of about 2 meters, tends to be twiggy and spreading into a fountain-like form, and displays frothy clusters of white flowers along the terminal of arching branches. Kalmia latifolia, commonly called mountain laurel, calico bush, spoon wood, ivy bush or American laurel, is a genus of about seven evergreen shrubs in the heather family Ericaceae. The small tree or shrub, that is native to Eastern North America, is covered with abundant clusters of flowers, lasting for several weeks in late spring and early summer. The flowers are very showy and cup-shaped with five sides and range in color from deep pink to white with purple markings inside. The flowers give way to brown fruits in autumn that persist into winter.
