Florence, Italy, March 20 - A view of the Brunelleschi dome of the Florence Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore, also known as the Duomo of Florence, one of the most visited places in Italy and in the world, is the third Cathedral in Europe, after St. Peter's in Rome and St. Paul's in London. The construction work began in 1296, while the consecration of the temple took place in 1436.
