Founded by Louis XIV in 1670 as a hospital and retirement home for war veterans, this expansive complex now houses various museums and monuments. The glittering golden dome, a masterpiece designed by Jules Hardouin-Mansart, crowns the Invalides and shelters the tomb of Napoleon Bonaparte. Beyond its historical and military significance, the site encompasses the Musée de l'Armée, showcasing an extensive collection of military artifacts, uniforms, and weaponry. Les Invalides, with its stunning architecture and rich exhibitions, serves as a captivating destination that honors the nation's martial legacy while inviting visitors to explore the intricate tapestry of France's military past.
