Erbs covered bridge spans Hammer Creek in Ephrata, Pennsylvania

The Knox Covered Bridge was built in 1851 and was 50 feet long. It was made of white pine. The original bridge was washed away by a flood in 1865 and was rebuilt the same year to 65 feet in length. It was damaged by fire in 1958 and rebuilt again. The bridge is located in Valley Forge National Park. Valley Forge National Historical Park is the site of General George Washington's encampment during the Revolutionary War .Washington and his troops camped at this site from 1777 to 1778.The park is comprised of 3,500 acres and contains many monuments and trails. It's located in Valley Forge, Pennsylvania.

Covered bridge in Valley Forge National Park, Pennsylvania, USA

Covered bridges are unique in their nostalgic connections to better days gone by. The combination of enduring functional use, reminiscent associations and visual beauty made Indiana significant state treasures. Shieldstown Bridge built 1876 and named for the family-owned mill in the immediately adjacent village of Shield and crosses the East Fork White River. It is a rare variant of the Burr Arch truss.

Red Covered Bridge

Sugar Creek is a tributary of the Wabash River in Indiana. It travels about 93 miles prior to reaching the Wabash River in Montezuma. Two state parks, Turkey Run and Shades State Parks are on the Sugar Creek which are notable for it's canyons and small waterfalls in this rocky terrain. Several Covered Bridges cross it's waters.
