Ludlow Massacre om 20 April 1914 marks start of labor reform in United States. 90 percent of miners, earning $10 per week went out on strike against Coal Fuel and Iron (CF&I) After 7 months the effects were being felt and when shots wer fired and fire swept thru tent colony killing 17 strikers (including 2 women and 11 children). Mine was killing 100 miners every year with no compensation for risk.
