The Mk45 5-inch 62 calibre gun of HMAS Sydney (DDG42), a Hobart Class destroyer of the Royal Australian Navy docked at Garden Island naval base in Sydney Harbour. The colour has been manipulated to increase the depth of the shadows, giving the gun and turret a more ominous appearance. The stern hull of HMAS Choules appears on the right. This image was taken on a sunny afternoon on 20 May 2023.

Cayenne, French Guiana: 58 mm mortar, commonly known as the Crapouillot (little frog) from its shape, was the standard French medium trench mortar of World War I - designed by Commandant Duchêne with trench warfare in mind, about 3,300 were manufactured at Saint-Etienne between 1915 and the end of the conflict - used as decoration in Rooster Square (Place du Coq).

It was designed as a versatile intermediate cannon. Its initial version was called 40L60, because the tube has a theoretical length equal to 60 times the caliber. It was manufactured in Sweden by the Bofors company itself, but also licensed in many other countries. It achieved a prestigious status thanks to his efficiency and great success during the London defence of the Battle of Britain. HMAS Vampire was the third of three Australian-built Daring class destroyers serving in the Royal Australian Navy (RAN). One of the first all-welded ships built in Australia, she was constructed at Cockatoo Island Dockyard between 1952 and 1959, and was commissioned into the RAN a day after completion.
