A Wattle Bloom in Soft Focus. This is a Black wattle (A. mearnsii). The Acacia melanoxylon is the most widely introduced and planted Acacia species in New Zealand. It is often considered a weed, and is seen as threatening native habitats by competing with indigenous vegetation and reducing native biodiversity.
Born and raised in the countryside without any cultural treatment. The seed spread by birds or the wind does not choose a place to be born. Even on the roofs of rural houses you can see mandacaru trees. Growth depends on the nutrients in the soil in which it germinates. The typical species of the caatinga biome can reach five to six meters in height. Adapted to living in a dry climate, with reduced amounts of water, its leaves have turned into thorns, which end up being defense elements against herbivorous animals.\nIts roots are responsible for capturing water from the water table. The stem or columnar trunk serves as a support axis and its central part, the core, contains vessels that carry water and other substances vital to the plant. Lateral to the stem, there are faceted articulated pieces whose morphology resembles a large candlestick with several branches. The external part, whether of the trunk or lateral shoots, is protected by a thick cuticle that prevents excessive water loss through transpiration. The flowers of this species of cactus are white, very beautiful and measure approximately twelve centimeters in length. They bloom at night and wither at sunrise. They feed the bees, especially the arapuã. Its fruits have a strong violet color, an ellipsoid shape, reaching fifteen centimeters in length and twelve centimeters in diameter, on average. The pulp is white with tiny black seeds, which serve as food for several typical caatinga birds.
