Opened in 2012 by Queen Elizabeth II during her Diamond Jubilee, the Royal Air Force Bomber Command Memorial is located in Green Park and is an open free public memorial which commemorates RAF Bomber Command which was active during World War 2. It was designed to honour the 55,573 aircrew from Britain, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Czechoslovakia, Poland and other allies who were killed.
