The Arch of Titus (Arco di Tito), a 1st-century honorific arch, located on the Via Sacra, Rome, just to the south-east of the Roman Forum.

On the horizon the Altare della Patria National Monument and the rear side of the Basilica di Santa Maria in Aracoeli, on the Capitoline Hill. 01 September 2017 - Roman Forum in Rome: The Arch of Septimius Severus at the northwestern end of the Roman Forum is a white marble triumphal arch dedicated in 203 AD to commemorate the Parthian victories of Emperor Septimius Severus and his two sons, Caracalla and Geta, in the two campaigns against the Parthians of 194-195 and 197–199.

The triumphal arch dedicated in AD 203 to commemorate the Parthian victories of Emperor Septimius Severus and his two sons, Caracalla and  Publius Septimius Geta,  is seen to the centre of the image. A detailed view of the imposing triumphal arch of Septimius Severus, in the heart of the Roman Forum, in the core of the Eternal City. Built in white marble in 203 AD to commemorate the victories of the emperor Septimius Severus in the Parthian war, it is one of the best preserved triumphal arches of ancient imperial Rome. On the right, the remains of the Temple of Saturn, initially built by Tarquinius Superbus during the reign of Rome in 497 BC and completed in its present form in 360 AD. The Roman Forum, one of the largest archaeological areas in the world, represented the political, legal, religious and economic center of the city of Rome, as well as the nerve center of the entire Roman civilization. Rome, Italy - The Imperial Roman Forum viewed from Campidoglio (one of the original seven hills of Rome). The three columns to the left of the image are what remains of the Temple of Vespasian and Titus. The Triumphal Arch of Septimus Severus can be seen to the centre and the Church of Santi Luca e Martina in the background. To the right are the ruins of the Temple of Saturn. Dating back to 497 BC and 42 BC, the ruins represent the third incarnation of the temple in 283 AD after a fire destroyed the earlier temple.
