The old Northern State Hospital ruins, now part of the Northern State Recreation Area just north of Seattle. Opened in 1912 the hospital once housed the most mentally ill patients in the state. The grounds also encompassed a 700 acre full function farm, it was officially closed in 1973. In 1991 Skagit County purchased the land and transformed it into a recreation area for the public.

Stanley, East Falkland, Falkland Islands: headquarters of the Falkland Islands Company Ltd. (FIC), FIH Group, on Crozier Place - the largest commercial player in the Falkland Islands, and is involved in a number of business segments, Retail sales through several stores in Stanley and Mount Pleasant, accommodation, shipping, port services, property, insurance, etc. The company was established in 1851 by Alexander Ross Lafone and was originally involved in agriculture and trade. For over 100 years, the main business was the sale of wool from the company's many sheep farms. By 1945 FIC owned 4,900 km² of land in the Falkland Islands and operated both business and shipping. In 1962, the company was listed on the London Stock Exchange. After several sales, the company became independent again in 1997 through the establishment of Falkland Islands Holdings. In the meantime, the agricultural properties had been sold to the Falkland Islands authorities.
