Gorgonian Wrapper Nemanthus annamensis, a species of Sea Anemones, is a common commensal on gorgonian sea fans and sea whips in Western and Central Indo-Pacific water deeper than 10m. The basal part of the brown column is enwrapped around the skeleton of the host corals. Sea anemones can contract and bend the column in various directions. The Gorgonian Wrapper's muscles can also be used to expand the column and tentacles by using hydrostatic pressure. This is called a hydrostatic skeleton. Gorgonian Wrappers can detach themselves from the bottom and relocate. The larger of these specimen have a base that is 5-6cm in width. The white polyps of this small anemone are 4 to 5 cm tall. It is not completely clear if Nemanthus annamensis kills the corals, or if it settles only on already dead parts of the coral.\nTriton Bay, Indonesia, 3°51'48.03 S 133°55'48.96 E at 18m depth by night
