KOH slide preparation of the nail scraping microscopic showed long septated hyphae and numerous arthrospores.
Squash preparation of onion root tip cells stained to reveal chromosomes, Bright field illumination, light microscopy. This image was taken with the X40 objective lens. Depth of focus is extremely low at this magnification. Smaller apertures give greater depth of focus, but image quality deteriorates and resolution is greatly reduced. The aperture in this image was optimised for contrast and resolution. Chromatic abberation is inevitable in light microscopy, but has been kept to a minimum in this image.
Alternaria spore was zoom by transmission electron microscope. Alternaria is a genus of ascomycete fungi. Alternaria species are known as major plant pathogens.

Cerebellar granule cells, light micrograph. Cerebellar granular layer stained with Golgi silver chromate showing the abundance of granule cells. They have a very small rounded soma with three to five dendrites, ending in an enlargement called a dendritic claw. The dark thick traces are blood capillaries.
Aspergillus fumigatus is one of the most common Aspergillus species to cause disease in individuals with an immunodeficiency. This pathogen primarily causes invasive infection in the lung.

The common fig tree ( ficus carica )is a deciduous, spreading, multi-trunk tree with smooth, gray bark that grows to heights of fifteen to thirty feet and has a wide but low, open canopy. It has large multi-lobed, showy, dark green foliage and produces small, inconspicuous flowers.

The nematode Steinernema feltiae under the microscope, the species used as a biopesticide to infect fungus gnats in agriculture and gardening.
Photomicrograph of linen fiber, Linum usitatissimum. It is a bast fiber which grows in bundles. The bundles are broken apart to obtain fiber for textiles. Cell walls visible. Wet mount, 10X objective, transmitted brightfield illumination. Note - very shallow depth of field, chromatic aberration and uneven focus are inherent in light microscopy.

Squash preparation of stained onion root tip cells showing various stages of mitosis. Differential interference contrast optics on a Leica microscope, Image taken with the X40 objective lens. Depth of focus is extremely shallow (just a few microns). Differential interference contrast results in an optical slice horizontally through the specimen providing maximum possible resolution at this magnification and good contrast. Chromatic abberation is inevitable in light microscopy, but has been kept to a minimum in this image.
