ETHIOPIA,LALIBELA,MARCH 2018--unidentified woman in biet Mariam praying.The 11 medieval monolithic cave churches of this 13th-century 'New Jerusalem' are situated in a mountainous region in the heart of Ethiopia near a traditional village with circular-shaped dwellings. Lalibela is a high place of Ethiopian Christianity, still today a place of pilmigrage and devotion.
In Debre Berhan Selassie Church, painting of the Holy Trinity (all three persons are painted to look the same) is over the doors leading to the Holy of Holies. \nDebre Berhan Selassie Church is located in northern Ethiopia in the town of Gondar.\nBuilding and paintings date back to the 18th century. Artist is unknown, although local tradition attributes most paintings to the 17th-century artist Haile Meskel.
