The Sanctuary of Santa Maria dell’Auricola or also the Sanctuary of the Madonna dell’Auricola stands on the top of the hill of the same name, 270 meters above sea level and a few kilometers from the center of Amaseno. According to historical data and some artifacts found in 1896 it can be deduced that the construction of the sanctuary can be traced back to the early 13th century by the Benedictine monks. In 1897, during the restoration, an abbey seal was discovered on which both the figure of an abbot and an inscription that read: \

The beautifully simple Victorian interior of All Saints Church in Ramsholt, Suffolk, Eastern England. The church dates from Norman times but was derelict by the mid-19th century. The old box pews face the pulpit rather than the altar - the Word being more important at the time than the Sacrament.
