The change of the guard is normally a popular event but due to the Covid-19, the square is almost empty. The royal palace Amalienborg in Copenhagen consists of four almost identical buildings which are homes for different parts of the royal family. The buildings are constructed in the period 1750-1760 and where originally used for well off families but after the burn of Christiansborg they where acquired for royal use in 1794
