Termessos, a mountain city, was founded by the Solymos (Solymites), known as a people fond of freedom. The Solymos mentioned in Homer's Iliad are known as the people of Termessos. The city of Termessos is one of the Psidia settlements in the Pamphylia region, established on the rocky slopes of Güllük Mountain. During the reign of Theodosius II in the 5th centuries AD, the location of the city was changed due to thirst.\n\nThis ancient city is located in the Güllük Mountain Termessos Historical National Park.

The ‘Church of the Blessed Peter at Duffus’ is first mentioned in a charter from 1190 The church was probably built by Freskin de Moray, who also constructed the mighty Duffus Castle nearby.\n\nThe church was badly damaged in the early 1300s during the Wars of Independence. It is situated in an situated in an idyllic location off the road to Gordonstoun School, among mature trees. A rare medieval ‘mercat’ cross survives among the grave stones.
