This is a picture of a sawtooth featherstar (Oligometra serripinna: 20 cms.), which has attached itself to a sponge. When there is no current, featherstars rest by folding their arms inwards, which often forms pleasing patterns, as in this instance. If one did not know that they were animals, one might think that they were beautiful plants! When there is a current, they spread their arms widely to catch passing microplankton, which are then transferred to the central mouth.
