William Emerson, father of minister William Emerson and grandfather of transcendentalist writer and lecturer Ralph Waldo Emerson. n 1842, the American writer Nathaniel Hawthorne rented the Old Manse for $100 a year. The Old Manse The house is located on Monument Street, with the Concord River just behind it. The property neighbors the North Bridge, a part of Minute Man National Historical Park. It was designated a National Historic Landmark in 1966 and is open to the public as a nonprofit museum.

Forks of the Wabash is a historical museum park near Huntington, Indiana.  Several historic buildings, trails, and remnants of the Wabash and Erie Canal can be found here.  A Treaty at the Forks of the Wabash was signed in 1838 and it is located along the lovely Wabash River.
In December of 1777 General George Washington located his headquarters at this small house in the village of Valley Forge, Pennsylvania, USA. The General and up to 25 of his staff worked and lived in the house. Mrs. Washington also joined him there for several months of the winter. Washington's troops however were not afforded the same luxury. They endured the cold snowy winter crowded into tiny log cabins.

Colonial Williamsburg is a historic area, which includes several buildings from the 18th century that had been restored. Costumed employees work and dress as people did from that era. It was designated a National Historic Landmark District in 1960. Photos were taken on iPhone 11 Pro on 10/31/20.
