Nouméa, South Province, New Caledonia: D'Entrecasteaux oceanic patrol ship - first of its class, named after the French navigator Antoine Bruny d'Entrecasteaux, an overseas support and assistance vessel (BSAOM), aka multi-mission vessel (B2M), designed to perform sovereignty, law enforcement and logistics missions - developed and produced by Kership, built at the Piriou shipyard in Concarneau. The d'Entrecasteaux class vessels can be armed with two 12.7x99 mm (.50 cal.) machine guns.

One crew member is raising two maritime flags, while the other watches or assists, on the bridge of USS Canberra (LCS 30), an Independence Class combat ship of the US Navy which is docked at Garden Island in Sydney Harbour.  She was in port for her commissioning ceremony on 22 July 2023.  As part of the ceremony, her captain was presented with a kangaroo insignia attached to all ships of the Royal Australian Navy, but decorated in the colours and design of the Stars and Stripes.  That insignia has been attached to the ship and visible on the right.  The name of the ship and serial number is visible on the orange life ring.  A large, padded chair is visible on the bridge. The Gulf of Aqaba is known for its scuba diving sites such as these cleansed and deliberately sunken artificial structures that become havens for coral and fish life, not only rejuvenating the underwater environment but providing safe locations for recreational diving in a warm climate.

The Maldivian Coast Guard is the naval or maritime arm of the Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF). As the Maldives does not have a navy, the Coast Guard also functions as such.
