A flower-spike of Meadowsweet (Filipendula ulmaria) growing in its typically wet, boggy habitat in central Scotland in mid-summer. The species has a long history of herbal use, traditionally being used as an anti-inflammatory, antiseptic, diuretic, and tonic since ancient times in druidic England.

Iju (Scientific name: Schima liukiuensis), native to Okinawa and the Amami islands, Japan, is an evergreen tree in the family Theaceae. The leaves are oblong and glossy, centering at the ends of branches. It produces five-pedaled white flowers in spring, with numerous yellow stamens, with fruits being produced in autumn.

Spiraea cantoniensis, also called Bridal-wreath Spiraea, Cape May, Double white May, May bush, and Reeve's Spiraea, is a deciduous perennial shrub typically grown as an ornamental plant in gardens. The plant can reach a height of about 2 meters, tends to be twiggy and spreading into a fountain-like form, and displays frothy clusters of white flowers along the terminal of arching branches.
