Concord, Massachusetts, USA - November 3, 2022: Close-up of the Minute Man statue at Old North Bridge. The statue was unveiled and dedicated during the celebrations for the centennial of the Concord Fight on April 19, 1875. The statue was cast from melted down Civil War cannons. On April 19, 1775, the first day of the American Revolutionary War, provincial minutemen and militia companies engaged British Army troops at this location. The Memorial to Robert Gould Shaw by Augustus Saint-Gaudens opposite the State Capitol Building on Boston Common). Robert Gould Shaw is seen leading members of the 54th Regiment Massachusetts Volunteer Infantry 1863. Unveiled in 1900, funded by philanthropist Henry Rosenberg (1824-1893) upon his death willed to the city of Galveston, fifty thousand dollars for this monument to be built to honor the heroes of the victory of the Texas Revolution in 1836.  Lady Victory stands atop the monument holding a wreath stretched toward the north into the state of Texas.  This bronze sculpture was the second tallest at the time next to the William Penn sculpture atop Independence Hall in Philadelphia.
