Long, slender snake with large scales. Eyes large, convex. Color varies, but is usually yellowish with black spots and stripes, sometimes black with yellow spots. Widespread in Central America and much of South America. Occurs in wet and dry tropical forests, on trees and shrubs. Readily swims well and climbs trees. Non-venomous but aggressive.
