Thingvellir is an old, historic place for gatherings and political meetings. Now it is a beautiful National Park with buildings and a church, and the famous split that divides the ground into two continents.
In  ÞINGVELLIR NATIONAL Park, Southern Iceland is a small church, by its anglicized name, “Thingvellier,”.  This location was where the Althing parliamentary general assembly met between 930 and 1798. It has also been home to a church for over 1,000 years.
