These Beehives are located along the Panorama Trail, a nice Hike, in Kodachrome Basin State Park, Southwestern Utah near Bryce Canyon National Park. Red Sandstone and Clay highlight these unique Natural Structures formed by Erosion. High Desert Vegetation and the Cliffs of the Escalante Grand Staircase National Monument. They are very similar to those found in Death Valley National Park.

The steep cliffs and eroded walls of the grand Canyon

Picture was taken while driving from Salt Lake City out to Highway 6, showing the various rock formations.

The San Rafael Swell is a geological formation in south-central Utah, about 75 by 40 miles (121 by 64 km), consisting of a dome of sandstone, limestone, and shale, pushed up some 40-60 million years ago. The folding is much steeper and more abrupt on the eastern edge and is referred to as the San Rafael Reef. The area is very rugged and remote and only one paved road, Interstate 70, pierces it from west to east.
