The Whetstone Mountains located in Cochise County, southeastern Arizona, are a part of the Coronado National Forest. The mountains are steep and rugged, with Apache Peak being its highest point. The foothills are covered in dense scrub, grasses, cacti, succulents, while low woody trees can be found at the higher elevations. Devils Cornfield is a broad, open area on the bottom of Death Valley. Here, the predominant Arrowweed (Pluchea Sericea) collects wind blown soil around its base. The Devil's Golf Course is a collection of windblown salt crystals located below sea level in Death Valley National Park. In the distance are the towering peaks of the Panamint Range, the tallest of them - Telescope Peak - summits at over 11,000 feet above sea level.
